CAS 2710 A College Journey II

Are people starting to ask you what you plan to do after graduation?  Are curious friends and family members asking you how you will use your college major in your future employment?  If you answered yes to one or both of these questions, then this course is for you.  This course is for juniors/seniors from any major seeking additional guidance for entering the workforce.  Specifically, students in this course will engage in active sensemaking and reflection to answer questions such as:  Why do I do the things I do?  What are my strengths?  What mindsets have I developed?  How have my liberal arts studies shaped who I am and what I want to do?  In addition to self-reflection and assessment, students will also learn about the science behind employee selection and how to conduct applied research to better understand organizations and industries.  Finally, students will create a Job Planning Portfolio that will be used to apply for internships and jobs of interest.  Recommended for juniors/seniors.
