FIN 4974 A Trading and Markets

The purpose of this course is to learn how capital markets function. To do so, we will use the RIT Market Simulator (RIT) in order to experience the competitive nature of markets first-hand and gain both a practical and theoretical understanding for how the prices of financial assets reflect information and the behavior of others. You will take the role of a trader with a variety of goals, trading in a live setting with others in the class, as well as computer-based agents. We will study both traditional trading mechanics, as well as algorithmic trading using the programming language Python. No previous coding experience is required.
