MUS 3702 A Music in the Village

Numerous studies show the benefit of music study for a person's well-being and intellectual growth in other subject areas. For this reason, access to music education should be available to all. This course is designed as an introduction to group music teaching through a community service lens. Students will explore the building blocks of successful music teaching in a leisurely group setting. In the second half of the course, students will gain hands-on experience teaching a group of students from the Alamance Burlington School System and the external community. This course is open to anyone that has prior experience with an instrument or singing and is interested in sharing music with the community.  Non-music majors and majors are welcome.
