REL 236 RELIGION AND RACING

This course investigates the role of religion in the cultural origins, history and current state of stock car racing in American society. Topics include the relationship of religion and culture, political ideologies of the NASCAR subculture, the role of women and minorities, the practices of religious ministries, and the religious implications of racing fans' fascination with speed, danger and death.
