Major Check Sheet

A Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in History requires the following courses:

Twelve hours at the 100- or 200-level, including at least one U.S. and one non-U.S. course: 12 sh

One HST seminar course including completion of a senior thesis: 4 sh

Twenty-four hours of HST electives 16 of which must be at the 300-400 level including at least: 24 sh

Four hours of U.S. history

Four hours of European history, including ancient history

Four hours of history of Africa, Asia, Latin America or the Middle East 

(with the approval of the department chair, four semester hours from outside the major may be applied toward the elective requirement.)
