DPT 610 Human Motor Development
This module examines the early attainment of movement and the developmental changes in body structures and systems which impact motor skill acquisition. Emphasis is placed on early system changes however lifespan comparisons are introduced. Typical motor development is presented in terms of the relationships that motor performance has with growth and maturation of the musculoskeletal, neurological, physiological, and sensory systems. Classroom & lab work bring to light the diversity of development among individuals and cultures.
