COR 304 THE GREAT FILMS

This course examines cinema along the distinct but inextricably bound tracks of art, society, and industry. Drawing upon history, film history, aesthetics, cultural studies, critical theory, and other disciplines, this course will provide intensive analysis of twelve motion pictures which, though inextricably bound to the historical, cultural, artistic, economic, commercial, and political forces of a specific time, have stood the test of time and continue to resonate with modern audiences-they are Great Films.
