CHN 376 BUSINESS CHINESE

This course prepares students for travel or work for business in Chinese-speaking communities. Real cases of successful multinational Chinese and foreign companies and issues including marketing, branding, mergers and acquisitions, OEM, international expansion are used as texts. Students develop their critical thinking skills and intercultural competence as well as gaining basic knowledge of business terms when analyzing these cases. Emphasis is also given to help students acquire greater linguistic skills that characterize advanced learners of Chinese. Proficiency goal on the ACTFL scale: Advanced Low. Prerequisite: CHN 322 or 372 or permission by the instructor.
