POL 347 COMPARATIVE FOREIGN POLICY

This course introduces the academic study of foreign policy analysis in comparative perspective. Foreign policy analysis explores every level(individual, domestics/state, international) of foreign policy decision making. Foreign policy is influenced by a multitude of factors: psychologies of individuals and groups involved, a state's characteristics (historical experience, political culture, foreign policy bureaucracy, political opposition, interest groups and public opinion), as well as the international environment/system. Based on this conceptual and theoretical background, this course reviews foreign policies of many different (types of) countries across the world.
