PSY 311 PSYCHOLOGY OF LANGUAGE

Students learn some of the basic principles and issues in psycholinguistics and the psychology of language. Different psychological approaches (cognitive, psycholinguistic, behavioral) are considered in understanding factors involved in acquisition, production, comprehension and maintenance of language. How language functions (similarities and differences) for individuals and cultures, and the broader relationship between language, thought and reality are also explored.
