GEO 346 NATURAL DISASTERS

Natural disasters, such as hurricanes, tsunami, earthquakes, volcanoes and floods can occur almost anywhere and reoccur in the same area, making it important to learn how to prepare for them. This course provides an introduction to the types of natural disasters people face. It explores the types, frequency, geographic distribution, physical processes that cause those hazards, their effects on human society and how humans evaluate and respond to minimize losses from natural disasters.
