HST 1230 CONTESTED DEMOCRACY: US FROM 1865 (NC)

This course traces some of the major political, social, economic and intellectual developments in the United States from the Civil War to the present. The title indicates both the contingent nature of these developments, as well as the interpretive nature of the discipline. This course explores the same national themes as HST 122 but with more attention to how they played out in a North Carolina context.
