CHM 4010 ADVANCED CHEMISTRY LABORATORY

The goal in Advanced Chemistry Lab courses is to: (1) provide students with a breadth of experiences in terms of concepts, practical skills, and instrumental usage, over a series of courses while (2) fostering a deeper understanding of core knowledge gained in lecture courses throughout the Chemistry and Biochemistry curricula. Students will be able to prepare laboratory reports of a style suitable for publication in a peer-reviewed journal. The fundamental structure of Advanced Lab is based on the American Chemical Society description of the laboratory experience. There are multiple versions of CHM 4010, which are taught on a four-semester cycle. Each time CHM 4010 is taken, the course will appear as a separate entry on the student's transcript. To register for Advanced Chemistry Lab, a student must be enrolled in or have completed at least one of the following courses: CHM 3050, CHM 3110, CHM 3210, or CHM 3410.
