DAN 3230 DANCE PEDAGOGY

This course is designed to guide students to form their own creative, intelligent and humanitarian approach to the teaching of dance. Students will discuss the many aspects of teaching dance as learned from reading of texts and additional research sources, as well as personal teaching experiences. The course includes field observations, development of lesson plans, in-class teaching practicums, and field based practice teaching in K-12 and private dance studios. Individual interests will be established early in the course, allowing students to explore their own teaching path.
