ECO 3140 MONETARY POLICY - DOMESTIC AND GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES

The goal of this course is to give you a better understanding of the role played by a central bank in the macroeconomy. In particular, this course focuses on the conduct of a monetary policy, and its effect on the banking industry and business conditions in the economy. We will consider monetary policy implementation by different central banks such as: Federal Reserve, European Central Bank, Bank of England, Bank of Japan, and People’s Bank of China. Topics include structure of central banks, goals, tools, challenges and the conduct of monetary policy.
