STS 1000 INTRODUCTION TO STATISTICAL REASONING WITH ALGEBRAIC CONCEPTS

This course is designed to develop basic algebra skills in the context of statistical literacy. In this class, students will focus on thinking about mathematics and statistics in terms of process and understanding of processes rather than computation and formula.  Students in this class will also focus on reading and interpreting statistics, and being critical consumers of statistics. Topics include basic algebra, arithmetic, descriptive statistics, probability, correlation and regression, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing.
