Admissions Requirements and Procedures

Admissions requirements and application materials are available at this link: Admissions Requirements and Procedures. The M.S. in Business Analytics dual degree admissions policy is designed to select outstanding students who have demonstrated academic ability, professional leadership and managerial promise. Each applicant will be evaluated based on their completed academic work, test scores, evidence of leadership and motivation, professional experience and credentials and letters of recommendation. Exceptions to these requirements will be considered under special circumstances.

Completed applications should be submitted online to the Office of Graduate Admissions and requirements include:

  • Evidence of an earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. A minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) is recommended
  • Official transcripts of all undergraduate and any graduate studies completed or taken. Please note that Elon transcripts will be requested on your behalf
  • A recommended combined verbal and quantitative score of 297 or higher on the GRE, and a score of 3.5 or higher on the 6-point analytical writing scale, taken within the last five years OR GMAT score of 500. Elon University’s M.S. in Business Analytics GRE program code is 5183 and GMAT program code is BFI-84-88. This requirement may be waived (please see GMAT/GRE Waiver Requests
  • Two letters of recommendation (professional or academic source)
  • Essay questions (prompted within the application)
  • A completed application form and personal statement with a $50 nonrefundable fee (paid online or with a check or money order made payable to Elon University)
  • Personal interview. Qualified applicants who have submitted a complete application will be contacted to schedule a personal interview, which can be conducted on campus, virtually via Zoom, or by telephone. An invitation to interview shows that your application has reached an advanced stage of consideration but does not guarantee admission.
  • The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required unless English is the student’s native language or the language of instruction. A minimum TOEFL score of 79 (Internet-based tests) or 213 (computer-based examinations) is required. English translations of transcripts and explanations of grading systems are required.
  • A resume is required for all applications.
  • Once all application materials are submitted, prospective students interested in the M.S. in Business Analytics dual degree program must complete an additional interview with the Elon (home institution) and NEOMA (host institution).

    For international applicants:

  • Requirements listed above
  • Official transcripts must be translated into English, if they are not already in English, and must be evaluated on a course-by-course basis by a third-party such as WES,IEE, or ECE.
  • Evidence of English language proficiency (unless English is the student’s native language). Acceptable evidence:
    • A minimum Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 79 (internet-based tests) or 213 (computer-based examinations)
    • A minimum Duolingo score of 110
    • A minimum International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic exam score of 6.5 (overall band)

Students interested in the dual degree must:

    • Be officially admitted and registered at Elon or NEOMA (whichever is the home institution)
    • Apply for the program with all necessary documents needed by the host institution and be nominated for dual degree
    • Complete an interview with the host and home institution

The selection of nominees will be based on academic qualifications, i.e., nominated students must have good standing at their home institution and be able to provide and English proficiency certificate (6 IELTS or equivalent) if the student is non-native English speaking. All students must meet academic continuation standards set by the institution and have enrolled in Master of Science Business Analytics for NEOMA students and Elon M.S. in Business Analytics for Elon students.

Because several months may be required to receive and process forms from international applicants, applications and complete documentation should be submitted as early as possible. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required unless English is the student’s native language or the language of instruction. A minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based) or 79 (Internet-based) is required for admission to any graduate program at Elon. Exceptions to this requirement may be considered under special circumstances.
