Music Production and Recording Arts Minor

This minor offers a flexible and customizable set of elective course options in Music Production and Recording Arts, building on the foundation of MUS 2825 Introduction to Music Technology and MUS 3825 Studio Techniques I. Students choose from an additional 12 semester hours of coursework in music postproduction, live sound, music business, music education technology, with the option of up to 8 semester hours of music theory and aural skills.

*Students interested in music theory take a short diagnostic test to place them in the appropriate starting course: either Fundamentals of Music (MUS 1300) or Materials of Music I (MUS 1310). Those who wish to progress to the next level of music theory or aural skills classes must earn a C- or better. Up to 8 s.h. of music theory and aural skills can count towards the Minor in Music Production and Recording Arts.
