FRE 4970 CAPSTONE SEMINAR

This is the capstone course for students pursuing a French major. The course is structured to model disciplinary research in French and to mentor students through the process of undertaking their own research. During the first half of this course, students will critically study primary and secondary texts from the French-speaking world linked to the professor's research agenda. The professor will model the process of critical reading and research methodologies that lead to the production of an original critical article. During the second half of the course, students will produce an article-length piece of original research treating a significant research question about primary texts in French related to the French and/or Francophone world.
