MGT 3240 HUMAN RESOURCES FOR COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE

This course is designed to provide an introduction to and an overview of personnel, industrial relations, and human resource management. Issues related to various related sub-disciplines will also be discussed. Major topic areas include: labor market conditions, the legal environment, employee recruitment and selection, training, development, organizational behavior, compensation and benefits, and labor relations. Using a variety of readings, problems, and cases, students will gain an understanding of the HRM process from employee recruitment through separation and will be prepared to take advanced classes in human resource management.
