  • Purpose: Ensure that faculty & staff stay committed to the work of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Create and support a diverse student body in SHS. Ensure hiring practices that attract and retain diversity amongst faculty and staff. Create course content and co-curricular programs that will help us prepare healthcare providers who are committed to reducing health disparities and serving all patients with the grace and dignity they deserve.

  • SHS Interprofessional Education Committee

  • Charge (last update 2022)

  • To encourage and support student, faculty, and staff interprofessional practice and education (IPE) and interprofessional collaborative practice (IPCP) through best practices as identified by the National Center for IPE (Nexus). 

  • In carrying out its charge, the committee will also be guided by the mission and vision of the School of Health Sciences and accreditation standards of each program involved.

 

 

 
  • IPE Committee Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the development of effective IPE activities that meet IPEC core competencies.

  • Map the SHS success in meeting IPEC core competencies, identifying areas of strength and improvement.

  • Assess SHS IPE effectiveness.

  • Work with departments within the SHS to facilitate accreditation documentation regarding IPE.

  • Amendment 7/2022: This committee is a 12-month committee

  • Membership model: one chair and one rep from each program and simulation center, volunteered/placed by department
