ENG 1226 WAR & WRITING

Poets, novelists, short-story writers and dramatists persist in writing about warfare, and they do so by deploying gothic, comic, tragic, pastoral and satiric literary modes. Texts in this course also show how the "literature of war" has meanings that extend beyond representations of specific combat experiences into the realm of universal human concerns.
