First-year Applications

Candidates for admission may apply via the Elon University application, the Common Application. Each application is available at http://elon.edu/admissions.

First-year Application Procedures

First-year applicants must submit:

Completed and signed application
$60 application fee
Official high school transcript
Secondary School Report

Elon is test-optional for admission. However, admitted students who have taken the SAT or ACT should submit them. In combination with the academic record, they are used to determine placement in first-year courses. TOEFL, IELTS, or the Duolingo Test will be used for students for non-native English speakers with less than four years of English as their primary language of instruction at the secondary level.

Note. Standardized tests are required for students seeking admission to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program. Home schooled students must also submit standardized test scores for admission consideration.

*Students applying to the Fellows or Honors programs must submit a completed first-year application and the Honors or Fellows application by November 10.

** Students who are applying to the Odyssey Program should complete the FAFSA and CSS Profile as soon after October 1 as possible and preferably by February 1.

*** Students applying to the Accelerated Pathways or Accelerated (3+1) Dual-Degree programs must submit a completed first-year application and the Accelerated Pathways or Accelerated Dual-Degree program applications by the November 10 deadline.
