EGR3560 Structural Analysis
This course examines the fundamental tools and methods of structural analysis including moment-area, slope-deflection, force, and moment-distribution methods with applications to beams, trusses, and simple frames. Loading and machine design elements are analyzed and applied.
Prerequisite
EGR 2060, EGR 2260
Learning Outcomes
- To introduce the principles that govern the application of structural theory to engineering design.
- To give students the ability to design and conduct laboratory experiments and to collect, analyze, interpret, and present data. To interpret experimental results in the context of wide-scale applications.
- To give students the ability to become knowledgeable about contemporary issues by discussing past, current, and future applications of specific structural designs.
- To give students knowledge about structural codes and performance standards.
