Learning Outcomes

  1. To introduce the principles that govern the application of structural theory to engineering design.
  2. To give students the ability to design and conduct laboratory experiments and to collect, analyze, interpret, and present data. To interpret experimental results in the context of wide-scale applications.
  3. To give students the ability to become knowledgeable about contemporary issues by discussing past, current, and future applications of specific structural designs.
  4. To give students knowledge about structural codes and performance standards.
