ELN1110 Exploring Majors
Are you not sure what academic path you want to pursue? Want to learn more about yourself and the traits that make you, you? Consider taking ELN 1110: Exploring Majors. This course is recommended for first year and sophomore students. In the class, you will focus on self-discovery concepts such as decision-making, values, interests, skills, strengths, and personality to see which majors of interest align. You will also explore the different College/Schools at Elon and the majors/minors offered.

Course Outcomes
- Students will recognize why they might be an undecided/exploratory student. Identify what type of undecided student and understand the different types of undecided students.
- Students will identify the majors and minors available at Elon University and the School/Colleges they are located in.
- Students will identify skills, interests, values, strengths and goals through various self-discovery activities and class discussions.
- Students will understand different decision-making styles.
- Students will explore opportunities through experiential learning (internships, part-time jobs, volunteer opportunities, study abroad/away, or other career-related experiences) at Elon and how they relate to major exploration.
- Students will connect with faculty, staff, and peers to gain better knowledge on their major(s) of interest.
- Students will create a plan to achieve self-determined academic and major exploration/declaration goals.
