ENG2370 Horror Film and Literature
“Horror Film and Literature” provides an introduction to the horror genre and to film and literary analysis. Using theory, critical texts, novels, short stories, and other intertextual supplements, the course examines horror film and literature from the 1800s to the present, in multiple global contexts. In this course, we will explore relevant social, cultural, and historical aspects that form the background for horror film and literature, and will ponder the question: What about the art of horror is unique, and why does the genre continue to fascinate us?
