NRS4400 Reproductive Health
This course will explore the essential elements of nursing care across the maternal and family healthcare continuum. Emphasis is placed on the concepts of sexuality, reproduction, grief/loss, mood/affect, behavior, development, family, health-wellness-illness, communication, caring interventions, managing care, safety, quality improvement, informatics/technology and advocacy.

BSN: A grade of B- or higher in NRS 3200 and NRS 4500 ABSN: A grade of B- or higher in NRS 4100 and NRS 4200

Course Outcomes
- 1. Detect changes within the internal and external environment of clients across the maternal and family health care continuum including care of the newborn.
- 2. Explore nursing practice related to sexuality and fertility, including client-centered care for individuals from all gender identities.
- 3. Demonstrate satisfactory completion of clinical skills per the NRS 440 Clinical Evaluation Tool.
- 4. Communicate effectively with individuals, support persons and members of the interdisciplinary team.
- 5. Correlate diagnostic test and procedures across the health-wellness-illness continuum.
- 6. Incorporate informatics and technology to formulate evidenced-based clinical judgements and decisions.
- 7. Understand the processes of clinical reasoning and applications in nursing practice.
- 8. Provide care in regard to policy and regulations, cost effective strategies, quality improvement processes and safety.
- 9. Implement caring interventions incorporating documented best practices for individuals in diverse family health settings.
- 10. Provide safe, culturally competent therapeutic care to clients.
