ART 4600 Advanced Projects in Digital Art and Expanded Media

This capstone course supports the development of a self-directed body of work grounded in each student’s creative and research interests. Students propose and pursue projects that reflect a sustained line of inquiry or cohesive concept, engaging in iterative processes from research and experimentation to final presentation. Working across digital and hybrid media, students build on existing strengths while expanding their practice through new tools, techniques, and ideas. Approaches may include print-based works, hybrid digital and analog processes, video, installation, site-specific work, interactivity and physical computing, experimental animation, and sound-based practices. Through critique, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration, students refine their artistic voice, situate their work within contemporary art discourse, and develop professional strategies for presenting their work beyond the classroom.
