COM 2600 AI in Human Communication and Media

This course provides an overview of artificial intelligence and its impact on human communication across diverse communication contexts and media forms. Students examine how AI systems are used to augment brainstorming, note-taking, information processing, message development, and the creation of written, visual, and multimedia content, including image, video, and basic code generation. Through hands-on experimentation with AI tools, students gain practical experience applying these technologies while developing the critical judgment needed to evaluate accuracy, limitations, ethical considerations, and responsible use in academic, organizational, and public communication.
