ENS 1050 Food Production Past, Present & Future
This course focuses on a variety of sustainability issues with American food production and culture, past, present and future. Sustainability, challenges, public perception and regulation impacts production, purchasing and consumption of food in the United States. This course will include a comparative examination of food production and how it has impacted the US since it was settled 400 years ago. Field trips and presentations will focus on the work of agricultural organizations, enterprises and governmental agencies. This course includes multiple field trips to farms that extend beyond the scheduled time slot. Please contact the Instructor or Department Chair with any questions.
