MGT 3100 Foundations of Business Analytics

This course provides a foundational understanding of business analytics and artificial intelligence (AI), focusing on how these tools empower data-driven decision-making in a business context. The course takes a multi-level approach in generating insights using descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytics. Students will explore the full analytics lifecycle, from defining business problems to collecting, cleaning, and visualizing data. The course introduces AI and machine learning (ML) concepts, explaining their real-world applications in areas like marketing, finance, and operations. Through case studies, hands-on exercises, and Python programming, students will gain insight regarding the strategic advantages that a data-centric mindset provides.
