Elon University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award bachelor’s and master’s degrees, the doctor of physical therapy and juris doctor degree. Elon University also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved levels. The Master of Business Administration program is accredited by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
The Master of Science in Business Analytics program is accredited by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
The Master of Science in Accounting program is accredited by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
The Master of Education program is accredited by the North Carolina State Department of Public Instruction.
The Master of Arts in Interactive Media program is a part of the School of Communications. The school and program are accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC).

The Juris Doctor program is accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA).
The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the Elon University Physician Assistant Program sponsored by Elon University.
Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards.
The Physician Assistant Program in Charlotte has applied for Accreditation-Provisional from the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). The Elon University Physician Assistant (PA) Program in Charlotte anticipates matriculating its first class in January 2027.
The Clinical Mental Health Program at Elon University is accredited with The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and is designed align with the standards established by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). The curriculum promotes the development of professional knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary for effective, ethical, and culturally responsive counseling practice.
At this time, the CMHC program is not yet accredited by CACREP. Consequently, graduates are not eligible to apply for licensure as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) in the state of North Carolina until CACREP accreditation is obtained. Per CACREP, since Elon is seeking initial accreditation, students will only be considered graduates of a CACREP-accredited degree program if they receive their degree within eighteen (18) months prior to when the accreditation is granted. Upon accreditation, graduates who meet all additional requirements may become eligible for licensure in North Carolina and, depending on individual state regulations, in other states as well.
Because licensure requirements differ across jurisdictions, students intending to practice outside North Carolina should review the Professional Counseling State Licensure Disclosure Statement to determine how the Elon University CMHC curriculum corresponds to specific state requirements.
