DPT 601 Today's Health Care Systems
This course will introduce students to the organizational, financial, and socio-political development of the American health care system and of the physical therapy profession within that system. We will also explore the legal, ethical, and professional environments within which today's successful physical therapist must work. Knowledge of the players, processes, parameters, principles and politics that characterize the U. S. health care system and the PT profession will provide students with the tools to be more active and influential participants in the current and future shaping of the profession, and to be more effective and productive practitioners within the U. S. health care system.
