B. Parent/Guardian Notification

Elon University appreciates the involvement of parents and guardians in the educational process. Unless the student can provide documentation of independent status, parents will be notified when their student is found responsible for violating any of the alcohol or drug policies and sanctioned to official warning or higher.  The University will also notify parents/guardians when their student is placed on academic censure, disciplinary probation, suspension in abeyance, disciplinary suspension, permanent separation or sanctioned to a loss of university housing.
