The Master of Arts in Higher Education Program

The Master of Arts in Higher Education is a two-year, full-time program. Students are members of a cohort for their two years and will learn and practice the principles for effective undergraduate education; explore the functions, issues, and leadership of higher education; and prepare for roles of leadership in higher education. Students’ knowledge will be further enhanced through a series of educationally enriching experiences linked to the curriculum, including participating in a global engagement experience; engaging in two internships at Elon or other campuses; case studies; and a capstone experience where students will work in teams to address an authentic problem. Graduates will be prepared to advance student learning and institutions of higher education as visionary professionals.
