A Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Art History requires the completion of the Elon Core Curriculum as well as the Major Requirements listed below.

Eight hours of Art History (ARH) electives at the 300-400 level: 8 sh
Twelve hours of electives selected from any of the following: 12 sh
Art History courses (ARH) at the 300-400 level;
One course in a Foreign Language at 200 level or higher;
One course in History (HST) at the 300-400 level;
One course in ART from the following:

Program Outcomes
An ability to recognize that the discipline of art history, like other fields, has been constructed by human beings, and that its categories are ideologically based rather than self-evident.
An ability to recognize and articulate a sense of art history in a global context.
An ability to synthesize materials from distinct courses or approaches and articulate a “big picture” view of art history as a discipline.
An ability to locate, distinguish among, and state the meaning of a wide variety of textual and visual sources.
An ability to articulate their own interpretation and analysis of these materials in both written and oral form
An ability to articulate their own engagement with and reflection upon that understanding.
An ability to recognize the workings of power systems and critique them.
Develop language, skills, and problem-solving abilities to protest those power systems.
