FIN 461 BF: Investment Seminar
This course is a comprehensive, hands-on experience in modern portfolio management. Students will use their financial, accounting, and economic foundations to both value firms and to think carefully about the problems faced by equity analysts, traders, and portfolio managers. This is done while managing a real equity portfolio. The course may be taught as a 4 credit hour semester course, or as a full year course with 2 credit hours in the fall (FIN 461) and 2 credit hours in the spring (FIN 462). This course does not count as a finance elective.
Prerequisite
This course uses the valuation and investment techniques taught in our three core finance courses.
Course Types
This is an invitation-only, seminar-style class where the students manage a portion of the university's endowment across two semesters.
