The Public Health Studies major prepares students with the knowledge and skills to address the public health challenges of the 21st century. Students apply interdisciplinary approaches and the population health framework to the analysis of the determinants of health and disease and to interventions to eliminate or control diseases and other health-impairing conditions. The pursuit of health equity at the local, national, and global levels is emphasized. Students are prepared to enter the workplace in public health settings and/or continue their education in the field of public health or related fields.
