EDU 4260 METHODS AND MATERIALS FOR TEACHING SOCIAL STUDIES

This course examines the social studies teaching practices and learning. Students learn how to investigate, evaluate, and select content, methods, and materials used to teach social studies: geography, history, economics, civics/government, and culture/society. Critical thinking, curricular integration, differentiation, and incorporation of technology  is emphasized in the design and implementation of lessons consistent with state and national standards, reflecting best practices in research and literature for this field.  A concurrent internship offers opportunities to apply concepts and skills.
