SOC 3250 MEDICAL SOCIOLOGY

Students in this course will be invited to explore the concepts of health and illness through sociological theory and perspectives. We will evaluate the American health care system as well as consider health care systems cross-culturally.  Topics include the ways in which illness may be socially constructed, equity issues in health care, and how the roles of patient and provider are created and maintained within health care systems.
