International Business B.S.B.A
A Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with a major in International Business with only one study abroad experience requires the completion of the Elon Core Curriculum as well as the Major Requirements listed below.
Major Requirements:
Economics Requirements 3000 Level
International Business majors should choose one of the following classes: ECON 3500, ECON 3110, or ECON 3300 to satisfy their economics requirement. Double majors should pick the ECON class best for their primary major.
International Business classes applied to other Majors or Minors
Students double majoring in two B.S.B.A. majors, a course eligible for two majors can only count towards one major. For example, MKT 4160 can count towards the MKT and IB majors. Therefore, if a student is double majoring in MKT and IB and takes MKT 4160, this course can count toward the MKT or IB major, but not both.

For students who are pursuing a double major OR for students who take a second Interdisciplinary Seminar, 3000/4000-level COR classes that have global focus can be applied to the requirement.
For only those students double-majoring in International Business, these elective hours can count towards their upper-level Elon Core Curriculum requirements.
Substitutions: One or more of these courses can be replaced by coursework abroad, provided the student has taken INB 2500. Substitute courses must be upper-division courses and may be taught in the language of the host institution. Study abroad substitutions must be approved in advance by the chair of the department or preapproved substitutions obtained from the Registrar. If additional substitutions are necessary because of study abroad curriculum changes, the department chair will approve when possible the available substitute options which meet the requirements of the international business major.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED MINOR OR DOUBLE MAJOR:
To promote academic depth, all students must complete a minor in World Languages and Cultures OR a second major of the student's choosing.
INTERMEDIATE LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:
Students must attain intermediate proficiency in a modern world language by:
(a) passing a modern world language course at the 2020 level OR placing above the 2020 level and
(b) taking AT LEAST one course at Elon in their chosen language.
SEMESTER ABROAD:
International business majors are required to study abroad for a semester. It is recommended, but not required, that students choose a region or country relevant to their language proficiency.
*Total number of hours depends on the number of internship hours and the amount of world language needed to meet the world language requirement.
