COR 4070 GLOBAL HEALTH DISPARITIES
This course will be an opportunity to investigate issues related to solving the health disparity problems within our country and around the world. We will discuss genetic engineering (including human cloning and tissue banks), insurance issues (Homo-economicus), the drug market, health care for the poor, major illnesses within categories for health disparities (cancer, cardio-vascular disease, diabetes, developmental diseases, etc.), and community awareness. In addition, we will sponsor a panel discussion by leaders in the areas of health disparities. This course is writing intensive. Open to students in the third or fourth year of study. Counts toward Public Health Studies.
