EDU 4230 METHODS AND MATERIALS FOR TEACHING ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS

In EDU 4230, students learn how to investigate, evaluate and select content, methods and materials used in organizing and teaching English language arts in the elementary classroom including second language learners and those with exceptionalities. They design and implement differentiated lessons based on state standards and develop technology-enhanced, integrated learning units balancing readiness factors, vocabulary development, word identification, comprehension strategies, fluency and motivation for reading and writing in elementary school. A concurrent internship offers opportunities to apply concepts and skills.
