PCS 1220 NONVIOLENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Marshall Rosenberg’s nonviolent communication skills are a powerful methodology for communicating in a way that meets the needs of each person involved in a conflict.  His methods guide us into a compassionate understanding of the feelings and needs of others.  Not only do these skills assist in resolving conflicts collaboratively, they help individuals identify their feelings and needs so they can be expressed in a non-confrontational manner.  These methods promote restorative practices that avoid blame, punishment and judgment, while helping people to take responsibility for their actions.  These skills assist us in communicating authentically and compassionately in all our relationships: in our homes, our workplaces, our communities, and our institutions.
