Clinical-Shadowing-Observation Liability Coverage

The individual course instructor may arrange for learning experiences outside the classroom as part of the DPTE course, which may include shadowing/observation with clinicians. For observation/shadowing arranged as part of a course, students are covered by Elon University’s Liability Insurance coverage. However, students are to refrain from initiating volunteer/shadow experiences with guest lecturers or other outside clinicians unless advised by the course faculty, as these activities are not covered by Elon’s liability insurance.
