GBL 1011 Opera & Dance in Italy: Creating Global Citizen-Artists

This course is to help prepare students for both the Opera in Florence: The Global Citizen-Artist and the Dancing with Florence: The Global-Citizen-Artist experience. We are investigating opera and dance as an act of community, civic partnership, hope, and joy through the lens of artistic empowerment. We will prepare students with a foundational knowledge of artistic citizenship, the cultural and historical importance of Florence and how we will utilize the architecture, art, texture, history, politics, music, poetry, and people to inspire and shape our music and dance making.
