WHE 2400 Methods of Health and Wellness Coaching

In this course, students will explore the fundamental principles and methods of health and wellness coaching. They will be introduced to the coaching process, strategies, and techniques used to facilitate and empower clients on their journey to enhanced, healthy living.

  1. The student will be able to:
    1. Explain the common principles and techniques for supporting individuals
    through the behavior change process.
    2. Sequence coaching sessions, describe the purpose of each segment, and
    identify corresponding components.
    3. Demonstrate basic coaching communication skills, such as appropriate
    reflections, mindful listening, and open-ended inquiry at a novice level.
    4. Explain the importance of a nonjudgmental, mindful coaching presence.
    5. Implement practices to cultivate emotional self-awareness and regulation
