(a) six semesters of private voice at appropriate level 12 sh

(b) six semesters of studio technique courses in dance with a minimum of one credit in each of the following: ballet, jazz, modern, African dance, and tap 6 sh

(c) electives selected from music theatre, acting, dance or music 14 sh

(d) one semester hour of singing in an ensemble 1 sh

Program Outcomes

Goal 1: Graduates will possess a fundamental understanding of the history and scholarship of music theatre, and use that knowledge effectively when making artistic choices.

Goal 2: Graduates will possess a solid understanding of the human vocal and physical instrument, and should use the voice and body expressively.

Goal 3: Graduates will reliably employ acting techniques that allow them to perform at a high level of skill, and should consistently demonstrate professionalism.

Goal 4: Graduates will exhibit readiness to enter the profession, possessing the skills and knowledge to secure employment in varied media and performance circumstances.
