EGR 4971 Senior Engineering Design II
This is the second of a two-semester capstone course, which is a culmination of engineering knowledge, skills, and abilities that you have acquired from Elon’s engineering program. You will apply these in a professional environment to solve a real-world problem, following the engineering design process. In the second semester, you will implement your idea by developing a functioning prototype or model, testing it, and documenting your design and results in a formal engineering report.

Course Outcomes
- Identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics
- Apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors
