GBL 283 THEATRICAL LONDON
Theatrical London will introduce students to the development of dramatic texts, different strategies for interpreting plays, and experience analyzing performances as audience members. The class will start with Greek Drama move to Shakespeare and extend to modern performances. In London, students will view three performances and visit sites that celebrate theatrical culture, which may include the Globe, the Theatre and Performance collection at the V&A, a walking tour of London focused on theater history, the Tower of London (frequently portrayed in Shakespeare), and the National Portrait Gallery (which includes many images representing famous figures from the stage and the actors who portrayed them).
Notes
This course will not count toward Arts and Sciences core credit and it will not count as an ELR.
